Xωρίς αμφιβολία το πιο εντυπωσιακό αποτέλεσμα των εργασιών πεδίου του ΚΜΦΙ μέχρι στιγμής, είναι η ανακάλυψη και περιγραφή ενός άγνωστου έως τώρα είδους ακρίδας απο περιοχή της Αττικής, πολύ κοντά στην πόλη των Αθηνών! Στο νέο έντομο δόθηκε το όνομα Eupholidoptera kekrops, αφιερωμένο στον Κέκροπα, μυθικό ιδρυτή της πόλης των Αθηνών και πρώτο βασιλιά της.
